The Paracelsus Medical University operates the first medical simulation center in Austria in cooperation with the University Hospital of Salzburg (medical and nursing staff). This will help to provide patients at the University Hospital a maximum in safety and the highest quality in medical treatment. Great emphasis is placed on international networking and professional exchange with other centers.

Medical simulation is becoming a standard in the education and training of physicians and nursing staff of all educational levels. The Paracelsus Medical University and the University Hospital of Salzburg regard simulation as one of the key issues in the future of medical education and training.

Our simulation center is very well connected internationally, with contacts to the largest contact centers in Germany (Tubingen, Mainz, Munich) as well as other European countries (Netherlands / Amsterdam, Norway / Stavanger), the USA (Mayo) and Israel (TelAviv).

Simulation is available for all levels of skill & qualifications: from  students to residents to specialists, from the physician to the head of department. Training with medical simulators is carried out for the benefit of the patient to ultimately provide the highest quality of care and guarantee patient safety.
Both routine procedures and crisis situations are trained. What makes this kind of training so special is that all kinds of situations can be trained and may be repeated as often as is necessary. This is carried out under the observation of specially trained doctors and nurses who will provide constant monitoring and feedback during the simulation training.
