The Institute of Anatomy and Musculoskeletal Research at the Paracelsus Medical University was founded in March 2004. The Institute is dedicated to:

• the exploration of the musculoskeletal system with emphasis on the quantitative analysis of articular cartilage from magnetic resonance image data
• the organisation of post-graduate training courses and conferences
• teaching at the Paracelsus Medical University
• the coordination of the research focus musculoskeletal disorders, biomechanics and sports medicine
