Head: Univ. Prof. Dr. Andreas Sönnichsen
The Institute of General Practice, Family Medicine and Preventive Medicine was founded in 2006. Univ.-Prof. Dr. Andreas Sönnichsen, formerly senior research fellow at the University of Marburg, was appointed head of the institute.
The Institute plays an important role in undergraduate and graduate medical education, and is dedicated to important research topics of general practice and preventive medicine. The main research focus lies on investigation of primary and chronic care as well as research on health systems. The primary goal of the institute is to provide information and support for the design of our future health system to assure economic and evidence based care for our population.
