General Practice, Family Medicine and Preventive Medicine

On 1 April 2006, the Institute of General Practice, Family Medicine and Preventive Medicine was founded as part of the Paracelsus Medical University. Dr. Andreas Sönnichsen, University of Marburg, was appointed head of department.

The Institute plays an important role in training medical students. In addition, Dr. Sönnichsen’s aim is to establish the Paracelsus Medical University as a center of execellence for general practice and research in preventive medicine.
