The application process for the study of medicine at the Paracelsus Medical University is set up in three stages. This thorough process allows us to select the most eligible candidates for to pursue medical studies from the large number of applicants.
In order to apply you must meet application requirements.
The written application provides a first impression of your past achievements, your personality and your motivation to succeed.
A complete application consists of:
- the online application form
- supporting documents sent by post.
Based on the documents, an initial decision is made whether the candidate will be invited to the 2nd stage. No legal claim can be made to be included in the further application process.
Only applicants who meet all application requirements, who have used the online form correctly and have submitted all application & supporting documents in due form and time, will be considered.
The test is taken on a PC and takes about 5 hours. The following points are taken into account in the entrance test:
- intelligence
- learning ability
- attitude to work
- personality
- natural sciences
- English
Candidates are ranked according to the requirements specified by the Paracelsus University. Those 150 who achieve the best test results in all areas will be invited to a personal interview.
This decision is made by the Board of Application Assessors - no appeal can be made against this decision.
Selected candidates are interviewed by an assessment panel of the Paracelsus University. The interview is conducted according to the internationally recognized criteria of the Mayo Medical School using standardized questions.
This meeting gives us the opportunity to clarify any open questions that may arise during the application process, to get to know you personally and to see whether your expectations are compatible with our teaching program.
Assessment panel’s final decision
The definitive decision to offer you a place, as well as the decision to put you on the waiting list is made by the assessment panel. No appeal can be made against this decision. You will be will be notified in writing in early July.
A contract is made between the Paracelsus University, the student and their legal guardian. This contract is enclosed together with the acceptance for a place of study.
