The Research Institute Gastein (FOI) is an institute of the Paracelsus Medical University and is affiliated to the Institute of Physiology and Pathophysiology. The FOI’s primary task is to coordinate and implement basic scientific studies and clinical trials, which will enhance and further develop Gastein’s standing in healthcare. Particular emphasis is placed on balneology, physical therapy, rehabilitation research and pain therapy research.
