Application and Admission

Application requirements

Applicants wishing to attain a postgraduate degree in Medical Science must have an undergraduate degree in human medicine, dentistry or veterinary medicine, pharmacology or a related science degree.
Admission to the Postgraduate Program in Medical Science is available to any undergraduate who has successfully completed a degree providing the main subject is science based. For instance diploma courses in computer science, mathematics, psychology, biomedical engineering, statistics, engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering.
Such graduates must complete a preparatory course in Basic Medicine (6 ECTS credits) or provide evidence of equivalent training (6 ECTS points). The Rector will determine whether the above-mentioned training corresponds with the requirements during the admission process.

Graduates from domestic or foreign institutions (eg. University of Applied Sciences), whose qualifications are equivalent to the above, may also apply to the Postgraduate Program in Medical Science. The Rector will determine whether the above-mentioned training corresponds with the requirements during the admission process.

Admission to the Postgraduate Program in Medical Science may only be granted if an agreement exists between the supervisor and the applicant.

Application deadline for the academic year 2012/13: 30 June 2012.


 
Admissions process

The number of students admitted per year is limited to 10. There is no admissions process. The Dean of Research Affairs or the Vice Chancellor will decide on the eligibility of the applicants based on the submitted application documents. If the number of applicants exceeds the admission limit, interviews are held by the Dean of Research Affairs. Admission to the degree program is based on the candidate’s academic and scientific achievements, potential scientific publications, planned dissertation subject and intended projects.
