2nd FORUM MEDIZIN 21 and 11th DNEbM annual meeting –
25th – 27th February 2010

Forum Medizin 21 is a successful Congress Series, organized by our institute, related to medical issues in times of economic pressure, information overflow and scientific uncertainty.
The first congress in 2009 focused on “Physician in the 21st century: expectations – self-image – reality”. In April 2010, on the second Forum Medizin 21, more than 260 participants followed lectures, discussions and workshops on “Evidence-based Medicine: a gain in physician-patient relationship?” This congress was held in cooperation with DNEbM, the German Network for Evidence-based Medicine and the SAGAM, the Salzburg Association for General Practice.
Further information can be found here.

1st FORUM MEDIZIN 21, 2009
Medical progress has without a doubt made a decisive contribution to both an increase in life expectancy and quality of life. However, progress is also accompanied by dilemmas: when and by whom should life support machines be switched off?  When do unpleasant side effects and loss of quality of life outweigh prolonging life? When does rigorous screening lead to an overdiagnosis and overtreatment which is detrimental to a patient?
The 1st Scientific Congress of the Salzburg Association of General Practice, held on 24/ 25 April 2009 investigates such issues. Further information can be found here.
