Additional electronic resources during coronacrisis

The following electronic resources are currently available in addition to our existing digital collection.

Electronic databases

The Database-Infosystem (DBIS) offers access to more than 4,500 databases. The databases subject to licensing which are bought by the library (e.g. Web of Science) are licensed and released for the campus of the university hospital of Paracelsus Medical University.

EndNote Basic

EndNote Basic is an internet-based literature-management program with which bibliographic data and also PDF attachments, tables, images, etc. can be easily and efficiently collected and managed. It helps to cite correctly the literature references in text and prepare a complete bibliography. The Paracelsus Medical University and the Salzburg University Hospital have access to EndNote Basic within the framework of the license for the "Web of Science" database. Compared to EndNote Desktop, the function scope is limited, but it corresponds to a large extent to the needs of the students. Unlike the EndNote Desktop, it is web-based and is thus accessible from everywhere via the Internet. A big advantage of EndNote Basic is the possibility to work in collaborative mode. The EndNote Desktop and EndNote Basic versions can be used in parallel.

Access / account

The students and employees of Paracelsus Medical University and Salzburg University Hospital can create a free account in Endnote Basic. To this purpose, a registration via the Web of Science database or under www.myendnoteweb.com is necessary. The required registration must take place within the IP range of the university - at the university campus or the university hospital. After the registration, you can access your EndNote Basic account for one year from everywhere. After the expiration of the one year period, you must register once again in an authenticated session (in the campus network).

Cite While You Write

With the EndNote Basic plug-in, you can access the EndNote Basic database and automatically format citations and bibliographies while you are preparing your works in Word. The plug-in can be found in EndNote Basic under the "Options" menu item. After the installation of the Cite While You Write plug-in, the EndNote Basic toolbar is integrated automatically in Microsoft Word. You can find more detailed information on the Cite While You Write Help Pges of EndNote Basic.

EndNote for iPad App

An EndNote for iPad on I-Tunes can be also obtained. In addition, with the help of the EndNoteSync, works prepared with the desktop variant and with EndNote Basic can be matched.

Videos and instructions on EndNote Basic can be found under the tab "E-Learning" on this home page.
