Further strengthen cooperation

In order to strengthen the competitiveness and visibility of anatomy and physiology and to further develop meaningful synergies, the two subjects with institutes in Salzburg and Nuremberg have grown together under a common roof, the cross-site centers. The PMU is pleased about the added value created by the merger.

On the one hand, cooperations in research are to be strengthened, but also advantages in external appearance are to be achieved. The anatomy and physiology in Nuremberg were previously departments of the Salzburg institutes and will be mapped as separate institutes as of April 2021. There is a steering committee and also a coordination function. The coordinators are appointed by the rector.

It is a first important step for the architecture of the university, which could also continue with further institute foundations.
