Director // Univ.-Prof. Dr. Falk Röder
Administrative Management // Dr. scient. med. Dipl.-Ing. Christoph Gaisberger

The institute focuses on applied research and development in radiation therapy, aiming to create advanced technologies and techniques that improve the precision and effectiveness of radiotherapy for cancer patients.

The institute develops clinically applicable, safe, and cost-effective solutions in medical physics, information technology, robotics, imaging, and radiation biology. These solutions are tested, evaluated, and refined in the patient care environment of the University Hospital Salzburg.

In collaboration with the medical technology and pharmaceutical industries, the institute also develops and tests prototypes and concepts. By integrating new technologies into clinical workflows, the institute drives innovation and provides valuable insights for the industry. Additionally, it ensures that new technological developments from commercial providers are functional and widely supported.
