An investment in your future

The total costs of the three-year doctorate amount to €7,486.20.

These costs include the tuition fee for three years (€7,350.00) and the fees for the Austrian Students' Union ÖH (€136.20). The tuition fee per academic year is €2,450.00 and can be reduced to €300.00 at the beginning of the fourth year.  

Additional costs may be incurred for individual optional courses in the elective catalogue.

For employees of Klinikum Nürnberg, there is the option for the employer to contribute part of the costs. In this case, a continuing education application must be completed. You can find the application form on the Klinikum Nürnberg intranet under the blue section “Personnel & PR” – Travel Management. Please note that the application must be submitted to Human Resources no later than six weeks before the start of the PhD programme.

Process: The starting point is a continuing education application submitted by an employee of Klinikum Nürnberg. The budget-responsible person then decides whether costs will be covered and to what extent seminar and/or tuition fees will be assumed. Travel Management then informs both the applicant of the decision and the billing office, by means of a cost coverage declaration, of the extent to which invoicing is possible. If this declaration has been issued, the invoice is sent to Klinikum Nürnberg in accordance with the billing address and amount stated in it. If no cost coverage declaration is available, the invoice is issued to the participant’s private address.
