// Univ.-Prof. Dr. Stefan Lorenzl Dipl. Pall. med. (Univ. Cardiff)

Palliative care is vital in an aging society dealing with an increase of chronic diseases accompanied by a significant shortage of nursing personnel. In response, our institute addresses interdisciplinary research topics and promotes the improvement of palliative care education and training, which is fundamental to provide high-quality palliative care in the future.

Our institute unites a multi-professional team from medicine, health- and nursing care, pharmacy, pastoring, health therapies and collaborates with national and international networks in medicine, ethics, religion, culture, social and nursing sciences.

For the implementation of palliative care education and training, we participate in different academic curricula and cooperate with the Master's Program Palliative Care.

Furthermore, we collaborate with the Hospiz- und Palliativakademie Oberland e.V. at the Tegernsee in Bavaria aiming to facilitate knowledge in hospice work and palliative care and to strengthen responsibility and humanity.

The team of our institute stands for interprofessionality in Palliative Care.
