Institute of Nursing Science and Practice
Nursing Development Center (NDC)
The Nursing Development Center (NDC) was established within the Institute of Nursing Science and Practice to promote and sustainably secure evidence-based nursing practice in health care.
Mission
Necessary structures and processes must be established within health care organizations to ensure successful evidence-based nursing practice. The NDC operates as part of a collaborative effort, focusing on scientific guidance and reflection to support the implementation and sustainable maintenance of evidence-based nursing. It aids in identifying best practices and evidence-based approaches, facilitating their scientifically-supported implementation and evaluating their effects. Through this collaboration, nursing research is established and expanded, driving the evidence-based advancement of nursing practice. The primary goal is to enhance the competency of nurses to meet current and future challenges in the field, in light of evolving health needs within the population. The NDC partners with practice organizations that share these goals, supporting their individual development processes through scientific guidance.
Vision
The establishment of evidence-based nursing practice across various healthcare facilities, e.g. hospitals, elderly care facilities and rehabilitation facilities, enables person-centered nursing care based on scientific findings, addressing the complex problems of individuals with care needs to ensure the best possible quality of life. Future challenges facing healthcare systems are anticipated, fostering new forms of cooperation between all professions in healthcare to benefit those in need of care and treatment. In order to adequately meet these challenges, academic collaboration in teaching hospitals and nursing homes should be embraced and reinforced through targeted clinical (nursing) research in a sustainable, care-oriented manner.
