Kurzfassung
The three university departments for gynecology and obstetrics, pediatrics and adolescent medicine and pediatric and adolescent surgery as well as the nursing management and the Paracelsus Private Medical University (PMU) Salzburg, Austria, have set themselves the goal of not only providing attachment-oriented, family-centered and development-promoting care and support but also of identifying families in stressful situations early on in everyday clinical life and providing them with support tailored to their needs. The concept of Early Life Care (ELC) was applied to meet these challenges. This is an interdisciplinary and integrative concept of health promotion and care with the aim of creating the best possible conditions for families around the desire to have children, pregnancy, birth and early childhood. Through advice, support, diagnostics, therapy and care, attempts are made to offer the best conditions right from the start of life.
