Kurzfassung

Transriptomic analysis revealed that in vitro generated mouse TAMs are endowed with a specific nerve growth signature. Moreover, TAMs express genes required for wound healing, including ECM-remodelling, angiogenesis, immune modulation, detoxification and defence, response to stress and glucose metabolism even higher than in M2 macrophages.
AIM: The aim is to exploit and characterize TAMs neuro-regenerative potential. To this scope we tested TAMs: i) neurotrophic, ii) neuroprotective and iii) immunomodulatory properties
