PhD Position: AI-Driven skeletal stem cell biology (m/f/d)
The Paracelsus Medical University (PMU) in Salzburg is seeking highly motivated PhD candidates (m/f/d) for the EU-funded AI-BOOST project (AI-Based molecular mechanism Of muskulo-Skeletal regeneration).
AI-BOOST combines AI with single-cell Multi-OMICS to identify stem cell subpopulations driving bone, cartilage, and tendon regeneration. As part of the PMU team, you will characterize the "skeletal regeneration trajectory" using epigenomic/transcriptomic profiling and 3D organoid models (CH3D). Computational and AI analyses will be performed in collaboration with our project partner at Paris Lodron University Salzburg (PLUS) – translating findings toward next-generation cell therapies.
Requirements
- MSc in Life Sciences (Biomedicine, Molecular Biology, Regenerative Medicine, or related) and/or bioinformatics.
- Good level of programming (R or Python) and genuine interest in AI/ML applications in biology
- Enthusiasm for interdisciplinary, translational research
