Applicant profile
The applicant profile for the Human Medicine program at Paracelsus Medical Private University (PMU) reflects our belief that each applicant develops into a unique and independent individual. We value and encourage a sense of individuality that, in turn, respects and appreciates the uniqueness of others.
We look for applicants who are willing to recognize their personal limits and can handle stress, criticism, and setbacks with resilience. We expect honesty, reliability, and a strong sense of moral integrity, along with the readiness to engage thoughtfully with complex ethical issues.
We seek candidates who are open-minded, cooperative, and able to learn and work well within a team. Knowledge is not just to be accumulated but shared actively and enthusiastically with others. We look for applicants who are genuinely interested in social issues and have already taken on responsibilities in social contexts. An openness to different cultures and diverse ways of life is also important to us.
Our five-year medical program demands a high level of commitment, motivation, and the ability to perform under pressure. Therefore, we seek candidates who have shown dedication and excellence in academic, social, athletic, or artistic pursuits.
Strong communication skills are essential. Applicants should be able to comprehend and articulate content logically in both German and English, and express themselves clearly in both languages.
Studying at PMU requires a hands-on approach and the ability to apply theoretical knowledge in practical settings. This practical competence can be demonstrated in clinical-practical, clinical-theoretical, or scientific contexts.
