Paracelsus Medical University (PMU)

Nursing Education
Profile

In Level I (1st semester), you will complete the “Practical Instruction” training in accordance with §64 of the Health and Nursing Care Act (BGBl. I No. 108/1977, as amended by BGBl. I No. 87/2016).

In Level II (2nd and 3rd semesters), you will acquire the additional qualification according to §65 of the GuKG*. This specialization qualifies you to conduct and assess diploma exams for all levels of nursing education in Austria. The university program in Nursing Education thus provides all legally required competencies.

The program is designed with a blended learning approach, combining in-person and e-learning modules, and can be completed almost entirely online. This allows students to learn in a flexible, individualized manner.

Program Integration

A significant portion of completed training and further education can be individually credited.

When combined with other continuing education programs at PMU (e.g., online bachelor's and/or master's degrees), the university program in Nursing Management can be linked with an academic degree (Bachelor +). Please note the specific academic requirements for the desired degree.

*The inclusion of this training program has been endorsed by the GuKG Advisory Board and will be incorporated into Annex 6 of the GuKG-LFV at the earliest opportunity.
