Specialized training in Perioperative Nursing
Program structure & Content
The program spans 2 semesters with a workload of 60 ECTS credits, consisting of 600 hours of theoretical training and a minimum of 540 hours of practical training.
The remaining workload is allocated to assignments and self-study.
Course Content (based on the GuK-SV 2005 as amended):
- Professional practice in perioperative nursing
- Theoretical aspects of nursing
- Nursing science, critical thinking, and sources of knowledge in nursing
- Professional studies and legal foundations
- Patient management in the operating room
- Perioperative planning and organization
- Communication and ethics
- Basic business principles
- Hygiene management
- Medical technology and medical devices
- Surgical anatomy
- General and trauma surgery
- Specialized surgical areas
- Fundamentals of anesthesia and emergency medicine, including pharmacology
Practical Training:
- General surgical field
- Trauma surgical field
- At least two specialized surgical fields
- Validated reprocessing unit for medical devices
Upon completion of the program, you will receive the following qualifications:
- Diploma in Surgical and Perioperative Nursing
- Eligibility to perform specialized tasks
- Eligibility to use the additional title Academic Expert in Surgical and Perioperative Nursing
- Specialist training II
