Abstract
This study explores the sustainability of advanced practice nurse (APN) roles, identifying key factors that influence their persistence and effectiveness. A qualitative descriptive design and the World Cafe method were used to gather insights from 12 APNs, students, and researchers at an international congress. Findings revealed that sustainability requires robust professional networks, leadership support, role clarity, and proactive policies. Recommendations include fostering mentorship, stakeholder engagement, and continuous professional development. These findings emphasize the need for health care systems to adopt structured strategies to sustain and integrate APN roles effectively for improved health care outcomes. (c) 2025 The Author(s).
