Nursing management
Profile
With level I (1st semester) you have successfully gained the ‘Basic and Intermediate Nursing Management’ (Ward Management) qualification in accordance with § 64 of the Healthcare and Nursing Act (Federal Law Gazette I No. 108/1977 as amended by Federal Law Gazette I No. 87/2016).
With Level II (2nd and 3rd semesters) you gain an additional qualification under § 65 of the Health and Nursing Care Act (GuKG). This specialization prepares you for leadership roles in advanced nursing services and qualifies you to manage organizational units in healthcare and social care facilities. The University Program in Nursing Management equips you with all legally required competencies.
The program combines in-person and e-learning components, with the majority of coursework available online. This flexible format allows students to tailor their learning experience to their individual needs.
Program Integration
Previously completed training and continuing education can be individually credited toward the program.
By combining the Nursing Management program with other PMU continuing education options, such as online bachelor’s or master’s programs, you can work toward an academic degree (e.g., Bachelor+). Please note that specific academic requirements must be met for your intended degree.
*The program has been approved by the GuKG Advisory Board and will soon be included in Appendix 7 of the GuKG-LFV.
Legal basis
The university program is conducted in accordance with § 65a of the Health and Nursing Care Act (GuKG), BGBl. I No. 108/1997, as last amended by Federal Law BGBl. I No. 69/2005, and in consideration of the Regulation on Teaching and Leadership Tasks in Health and Nursing Care (GuK-LFV).
