On December 12, 2025 Florian Huber obtained a Ph.D. in Medical Science with a dissertation entitled: “Characterization of the molecular mechanism of UPS-mediated protein degradation of pendrin and its pathogenic variants” under the supervision of a.o. Univ.-Prof. Priv.-Doz. Silvia Dossena, Ph.D, Dr.rer.nat. Emanuele Bernardinelli, Ph.D. and Dr. Thomas Caspari, at the Institute of Pharmacology and Toxicology. The examination committee was chaired by Univ.-Prof. Dr. Sébastien Couillard-Després (Institute of Experimental Neuroregeneration PMU Salzburg) and composed of Dr. Nicolas Picard (University of Lyon, France) and Prof. Heimo Mairbäurl (University of Heidelberg, Germany).
