Over two ceremonial days, a total of 133 degrees and certificates were awarded at the Institute of Nursing Science and Practice at Paracelsus Medical University (PMU). Of these, 95 were conferred in the continuing education programmes in Nursing Management and Nursing Education, while 38 graduates completed Bachelor’s, Master’s and doctoral programmes. The close cooperation between PMU, the Salzburg University Hospital (SALK) and the State of Salzburg has long been a cornerstone of nursing education and professional development in the region.

On February 26, the focus was on advanced nursing training. 21 graduates completed Intermediate and Basic Nursing Management at Level 1, and 35 qualified as Academic Experts in Nursing Management. In the afternoon, 39 graduates completed their studies in Nursing Education. The participants, already qualified as registered nurses, have taken on additional leadership and teaching roles in the nursing sector with these specializations. The programs are closely aligned with the demands of practice and specifically strengthen leadership and training functions in healthcare.

During the ceremonies, State Councilor Daniela Gutschi honored the commitment of the graduates. Years of intensive training lay behind them, and now they stand ready as qualified professionals to support patients with sound knowledge and practical experience. Rector Annemarie Weißenbacher and Univ.-Prof. Dr. Dr. Jürgen Osterbrink, Head of the Institute for Nursing Science and Practice, also emphasized the significance of these achievements and the important role of the new professionals in advancing the healthcare system.

On February 27, the Academic Ceremony was held for the degree programs Bachelor of Science in Nursing (Online), Master of Public Health, and the Doctoral Program in Nursing & Allied Health Sciences. 22 graduates received their Bachelor of Science in Nursing, 13 completed their Master’s in Public Health, and three earned their doctorates in Nursing & Allied Health Sciences.

These degree programs combine scientific depth with professional practice and, through flexible formats, enable academic advancement alongside work in the healthcare sector. They thus make a significant contribution to the sustainable provision and development of healthcare in Salzburg.

Strong healthcare begins with well-trained people: Each of these degrees not only enhances individual competence but also strengthens a system that relies on qualified, reflective, and responsible professionals.

We warmly congratulate all graduates and wish them all the best for their future careers.
