Healthcare professionals often face ethical dilemmas and challenging situations in their daily work. A new program offered by Paracelsus Medical Private University (PMU) in Salzburg is designed to help professionals recognize, analyze, and consciously navigate these ethical challenges—both personally and in interprofessional collaboration.

The program, "Applied Ethics in Clinical Practice," consists of in-person modules and online courses. It provides a solid foundation in ethical principles, addresses practical ethical issues from everyday clinical practice, and encourages participants to analyze, discuss, and reflect on personal values and professional roles. The course emphasizes the development of ethical competencies and the facilitation of effective interprofessional communication and decision-making in daily practice. A key component is the analysis of a real-life case from the participants' professional experience, alongside reflections on the course content in relation to their own work environment.

The program is aimed at healthcare professionals from all fields who have completed their training and have at least three years of relevant work experience. It is recommended that participants register with a colleague from another professional group, if possible, to enhance the integration of the course content into their everyday practice.

The course, accredited by the Austrian Medical Chamber with a total of 56 CME points, begins on October 1, 2024. For more information and registration, visit: www.pmu.ac.at/angewandte-ethik.html
