14th University Assembly of the PMU at the Salzburg Campus: Looking Back and Forward Together

"PMU & You" was the motto of this year's university assembly of the Paracelsus Medical University (PMU) on April 10 at the Salzburg campus. For the 14th time, the gathering took place, where traditionally the results of the university's work from the past months were presented, and future plans as well as desired developments were discussed.

A total of around 100 employees, teachers, and researchers from the PMU, as well as members of the professorial body, accepted the invitation from the university management to the Jörg-Rehn-Auditorium. Additionally, around 50 people from the invited group took advantage of the opportunity to participate online. Rector Prof. Wolfgang Sperl, Vice-Rector Prof. Christian Pirich, and Chancellor Dr. Christiane Pedit presented not only a review, successful cooperations, and recognitions at the PMU but also new strategic developments of the Paracelsus Medical University. This was followed by the presentation of results from the departments of Pharmacy, Nursing, and Human Medicine, presented by Dean Prof. Johanna Pachmayr, Dean Prof. Jürgen Osterbrink, and Dean Prof. Florian Wichlas.

Subsequently, four interactive dialogue forums offered all participants the opportunity to jointly discuss and initiate future perspectives, projects, and ideas. Under the thematic groups "Medicine–Pharmacy–Nursing: Interprofessional Collaboration," "Digitalization & Communication," "Core Facilities as Shared Research Infrastructure," and "Human Medicine Bachelor/Master – Opportunity and Challenge," current tasks or hurdles were discussed in 40-minute rounds and then presented.

The productive 14th university assembly, moderated by the new head of PMU Corporate Communications, Mag. Johanna Paulus-Jenner, concluded after more than two hours of intensive exchange with a social get-together featuring a buffet and drinks.
