PMU Alumni Club Treffen in Salzburg
PMU/Alumni Club

At the end of June,  Members of the Alumni Club of the Paracelsus Medical Private University (PMU) set out and gathered at their alma mater for the traditional Alumni Club meeting at the Salzburg location. Together, they spent a varied weekend with numerous program highlights. The meeting takes place every two years, alternating between Salzburg and Nuremberg. In total, the Alumni Club has nearly 500 members, and the number is rising.

Excerpt from the program:

  • Election of a new board
  • PMU update by the Rector
  • Excursion to Hellbrunn
  • Handover of school bag donations

The gathering of former students began on Friday with a cozy dinner at the Pauli Stubn and continued the following day with a get-together and breakfast at the PMU campus. Rector Wolfgang Sperl welcomed the attending alumni and took time to provide an update on current developments at the university. This was followed by the general assembly, which included the election of a new board on the agenda.

As part of the Alumni Club meeting, the former students also made a gesture of solidarity: 20 new school bags were handed over to the Catholic Family Association of Salzburg and the Tyrolean Unterland to support children from socially disadvantaged families. The donation campaign helps families in need when financial resources are lacking, such as at the start of the new school year.

The PMU alumni are pleased to be able to make a contribution: "It is a great concern of ours to support children regardless of their social background. Education is the key to equal opportunities, and a good start to school begins with the right equipment. We hope that by donating 20 high-quality school backpacks to families at risk of poverty, we will not only make it easier for the children to start school but also give them the feeling of being seen and appreciated."

The afternoon program started with a boat trip to Hellbrunn, including a transfer by London double-decker bus directly to Hellbrunn Park. Some of the alumni also took the opportunity to visit the water features at Hellbrunn Palace.

The joint farewell dinner at the "Magazin" restaurant provided the setting for the conclusion of another successful alumni meeting in Salzburg.

Thank you for your visit!
