The Rotary Club Salzburg-Paracelsus has long supported Paracelsus Medical University (PMU) through scholarships for medical students. Recently, the club decided to expand this support, presenting PMU with a €30,000 check during a club evening. "This donation reaffirms the long-standing, close, and very positive relationship between PMU and the Rotary Club Salzburg-Paracelsus. We aim to deepen this relationship further — for example, by having our club members share their professional experience with students so that they can directly benefit from it," said Club President Univ.-Prof. Eva Rohde, Head of the Department of Transfusion Medicine at Salzburg's University Hospital and Director of PMU’s GMP Laboratory, during the check presentation on October 1st at the PMU.

“We are truly grateful to the Rotary Club Salzburg-Paracelsus for this generous donation and their continued support. The €30,000 will go directly into our scholarship fund,” said PMU Rector Wolfgang Sperl. As a gesture of appreciation, PMU has dedicated a lecture hall to the Rotary Club Salzburg-Paracelsus. "Lecture Hall 4 Rotary Paracelsus" is located on the second floor of the Hansjörg Wyss House for Research and Education (House A) on the PMU campus and accommodates up to 50 students. "We are delighted to now be a visible and integral part of the PMU community through this lecture hall and our other activities," added Club President Eva Rohde.

The Rotary Club Salzburg-Paracelsus was founded in 2006. "Our club is committed to actively promoting Rotary ideals in our region, including supporting Paracelsus Medical University. This commitment is rooted in the close, trusting relationship between PMU’s founding rector, Univ.-Prof. Herbert Resch, and Dietrich Mateschitz, a longtime supporter of PMU who had a special connection with the Rotary Club Salzburg-Paracelsus from its inception," explained Rohde.
